Playing & Sledding in the snow

Ten days into 2011 and we had 2 inches of ice and snow in Birmingham. Not as bad as the weatherman predicted but enough to close schools, businesses and roads. We didn't even get the paper on Monday. Kids were sledding on our street. Our back gate was frozen to the ground so there wasn't any possibility of getting the car out. Putter loved eating the ice. Laine tried to make a snow angel but the ground was really hard. Sledding was a little more dangerous than I anticipated but no injuries to report thankfully. Laine and Davis have very different ideas of what they want to do on snow days, which was really hard to handle since Keat was out of town. Davis wanted to stay in his pajamas all day. He was wearing them under his clothes when we went outside in the snow. Laine wanted to change her outfit multiple times a day. She also wanted to "go somewhere". She is like me and her Nana, wants to be on the go all the time. I can relate but we still couldn't go anywhere. Schools and businesses were closed on Tuesday too. Looking forward to a thaw out and getting back to our normal routine tomorrow (and Keat coming home).
