Latest Tricks and Things

Before I have Davis, I thought I would share some of the latest things happening in Laine's life.

She loves arts and crafts. She enjoys bringing home her projects from school and telling us about them. Her class is focusing on different colors each week. Last week was red and I guess this week is red too because it's all about Valentine's. Ahe also loves to color in coloring books. I have to remind her that crayons are only to be used on paper, not the wall or the table. We made a card for her cousin Abbey's birthday this weekend using construction paper and a glue stick. Note to self- glue sticks may not be appropriate for a 2 year old in the future.

She likes to say a blessing before each meal and usually we have to stop eating and say another one during the meal as well. The cutest part is that during the blessing, she yells out people and animals that she wants to be included.

She loves school and church. Saturday is usually the only day we don't go to Canterbury. She says she wants to go to church or school to see her friends everyday.

She confiscated Nana's toothbrush at Christmas and still uses it. This still grosses me out a little but at least she likes to brush her teeth.

We are trying to get her to stop sucking her fingers. They are cracked and peeling so we put band aids on them. She decided to suck her pinky finger instead.

She has yet to eat a food that she doesn't like. She definitely prefers some food over others but isn't picky. Recently she really likes my homemade macaroni and cheese. She even made up a song about macaroni. It is so funny.

She loves music and singing as evidenced by the video. She does the hand movements to songs when we sing in the car. She also loves to read books and has memorized many of them.

As far as potty training, Laine uses the potty at school and is very interested in every public restroom. Unfortunately, she has a harder time at home where she has her choice of clean potties. I still believe she is on the verge of a big breakthrough.

She is very excited about her baby brother. She tells random people that she has a brother and he is currently in "mommy honey's" belly.
