Baptism

The baptism went well today. Davis was awake and didn't cry. At one point he looked like he was going to let out a scream and Laine yellled at him, "it's okay, buddy." Notice that Laine did not want to smile or even look at the camera for pictures. We were very blessed to have our family there to witness the event.

Congratulations to Aunt Amy for officially getting the "favorite aunt" award since she was the only one of our siblings to attend. Actually she helped us out a lot and played with Laine for several days. Entertaining a 2 year old is a full time job and Laine did not let Aunt Amy out of her sight or fall asleep on the job. Amy even read her books and tucked her in bed on Saturday night.

Other highlights-
Somehow Aunt Kat had the magic touch with Davis and he fell asleep in her arms everytime she held him. She even walked around shopping with him like that. It kills my arm when he's asleep like that on me. It actually makes my arm go numb.

Having a belated birthday party for Nana and Grandpa on Saturday night. Laine made sure that everyone wore their party hats. We baked a cake for them on Friday afternoon and Keat helped ice it. It didn't look that fabulous but it was made with love and tasted pretty good too.

We enjoyed a full day of shopping on Saturday. Laine kept saying, "I want to shop." Davis handled it well too. Thank you to Aunt Kat(& Joe), Mom (& Dad) and Granny (& Papa) for the clothes, etc that you bought us this weekend.

Granny made her famous pecan covered chocolate sheet cake for Sunday brunch. Yum, it was good and made even better by the "extra" stick of butter that somehow made its way into the mix.

Keat's parents hosted a luncheon at their house afterwards. It was really nice and we've been eating the leftovers ever since.

Another sweet part of the baptism was that Davis wore a Feltman Brothers outfit that was Keat's when he was a baby. The funny part is that it is a 9 month size.

We were so grateful that our family drove from Texas to be with us this weekend. It has been a rough 6 months for us and I knew that if we made it to the baptism, we would be okay. And sure enough, things have turned around. Our faith in God and the support from family and friends has helped us in more ways that we could ever express our gratitude.

I am sorry that we couldn't be there, but I'm glad that y'all had a wonderful day! I am constantly reminded that before he/she was ours, they were His.
