Fall is Here

Fall has officially arrived in Birmingham. This weekend we have had beautiful weather and the first dip into 40 degree temperatures. It felt great. The mosquitos are gone and have been replaced by falling acorns and pine cones. We had a yard sale on Saturday, another one of our annual events. Laine's highlight to the yard sale was a visit by the firetruck. No, we didn't set our house on fire, the firemen came to our yard sale. Laine loves firetrucks, probably because we live near a fire station and we hear them drive by our house everyday.
We also met our new neighbors, who plan to live through the rest of construction on their house. They decided to sell a few things since they moved in and ended up giving Laine a little play kitchen. Now she has a place for her fake food and tea set. In the next month we are converting our den/ study into a playroom but the kitchen is sitting next to the desk in the meantime. It quickly became a mess.
Also during the yard sale Laine tried to sell Paw Paw by pricing him accordingly.
Today I am flying to Clearwater Beach, Florida for a conference. It is supposedly 85 degrees there. I'm looking forward to a beach vacation by myself, even though I am going to miss Keat, Laine and Putter.
